Objectives of The Direct Writing Association
To facilitate the development and deployment of cost effective
Direct Writing technologies in the UK.
Key Deliverables:
1. Communication and dissemination
to support programmes that include:
- Web based directory of UK Direct Write (DW) companies, capabilities
and products.
- Telephone and e-mail contact to signpost and handle enquiries.
2. The establishment of interest groups
of relevance to the application of Direct Write technologies in
the following priority application areas:
- Electronics - conformal, large area, aerospace and defence
applications.
- Health - medical sensors, test equipment and pharmaceuticals
dosage control.
- Consumer products - customisation, logistics, smart packaging
and security.
3. Identification of leading technologies
developed in other countries, and spreading awareness of these technologies
via newsletters and e-alerts.
4. Advising strategic research and technology
programmes to identify gaps, theme setting prioritisation
and to encourage the development of direct write technologies with
commercial potential in the fields of:
- Consumables/inks.
- Machine tools to deploy the inks.
- Design and manufacturing processes.
